Do’s and Don’ts for successful UX design

UX Design refers to the term User Experience Design, while UI Design stands for User Interface Design. Both elements are essentially needed to a product and should work closely by mending. But despite their professional relationship, the roles themselves are quite different, referring to very different parts of the process and the design discipline.

UX design is something which acts as process of enhancing the readability, interaction, ease of use and pleasure whereas the UI design is the series of screens, pages, and visual elements such as buttons and icons that helps achieving the UX

UX is focused on the user’s journey to solve a problem, UI is focused on how a product’s surfaces look and function.

Designing for yourself

Designers need to think in the perception of the customers and the domain to which the design is intended. A good designer will surely have the mind to put the need of the client before his passion for design. It is tough to detach the wants from what the customer needs for design. Whenever a designer is getting through this mode, it is expected to understand that the actual responsibility is towards the users’ needs and not to satisfy the self-ego.

Avoid Complications

It’s always needed to make sure that the screen interactions should pave way to pick the functions rather confusing the users. Always the design should be less complex for instance if a user tries sign-up on an application and if that process is a complicated one, it would greatly affect the overall user experience.

Avoid too many navigations:

It’s better to keep the dependant functions correlated on a separate screens or menus rather navigating the users to and fro. The user may not know where that had navigated from and the best way is to keep them informed about their visit to the pages or functionality.

Changing the Pattern of Design:

Following uniqueness across the applications or website is very much important as the user would feel the essence of it. It should make the users feel their stay on the application with longevity. The more uniqueness on the application in terms of its pattern would correlate to the more identity that would bring on the brand which is associated with the design.

Understanding the user:

It’s better to do a small research on the competitor’s business, the target audience and the business strategies of your customer before starting the design. It should always have a better hand on your approach and would definitely add values to the design. The user’s ideology matters a lot on the interaction and the usability which would drive the user to stay on the page to surf on.

Keeping it Simple

Keeping it tight and simple would fetch the core purpose of which an application is built. Nowadays, minimalism and flat designs are the trend. They can be seen widespread in most of the designs. This is because they take away anything and everything that hinders users engage with content. Users feel much delighted when their purpose are met in a simple procedure.

Focus on the usage of palette

Color choices pay a vital role on the UX as it is normally interchangeably referred as UI and not as UX. Color comes as a part of UX as it talks to the users based on the look and feel to which it is portrayed.
